Queue fee reminders and absence notices

Messages to parents are off by default, need consent and a monthly cap, and send only through a working SMS gateway.

Approved preview
These instructions are for users with approved preview access. Reading them does not enable a workspace or open public signup. Check each guide for current limits.

Where: Class → Fees → Messages to parents; Register → Tell guardians of absent students

Before you continue
Class is an approved preview. Sign-up is closed. Use invented students and guardians; do not enter a real child's details.

Messages are switched off until Kyloth turns them on for your institute, and no SMS gateway is installed in the preview, so no message can be sent today. You can see what would be queued. WhatsApp is not available for Class.

  1. An owner or accountant sets a monthly cap and the cost of one message in Plans and receipt details. With no cap set, nothing is sent. Messages past the cap stay queued.
  2. On Fees, Queue fee-due reminders adds a text for each instalment due in three days, today or three days ago and still unpaid. Only the amount still owed on that instalment is named, never a running total and never the child. A reminder is queued only for a guardian who agreed to fee messages.
  3. In a register, Tell guardians of absent students queues the absent-today text for children marked absent. A child nobody marked is never counted. The text names the child's first name only.
  4. Send queued messages sends what is waiting, within the cap. Consent is checked again at that moment, and a guardian who sent STOP or withdrew is skipped and the reason is recorded.
