Add students and their guardians
Add one child at a time or import a spreadsheet, and decide shared phone numbers yourself.
Where: Class → Students; Import students; Shared phones
- Open Students. An owner, admin or front-desk member sees Add a student and their guardian below the list.
- Enter the student's name as you call them and their class or batch. Add the school if it helps. Enter one guardian's name, relationship and Indian mobile number; email is optional.
- Choose the guardian's preferred language, English or Hindi, and tick Reachable on WhatsApp or Pays the fees where true. Press Add student.
- Open the student from the list to see their record. Consent has not started yet; it starts from the guardian's card.
- For many children at once, open Import students and choose a CSV file. Each row needs a student name, a guardian name and a guardian mobile. Class, school, relationship, email, language and a WhatsApp yes or no are read when present.
- Read the preview. Every row shows Ready or the reason it cannot be imported. Any other column, such as a date of birth, an ID number or an address, is ignored and never stored.
- Press the import button to add the ready rows. A file can have up to 2,000 rows and 1 MB, and the same file cannot be imported twice.
When a guardian is entered with a mobile number another record already carries, Class opens a review in Shared phones instead of merging. Choose Same person to link the new child to the existing guardian; consent still stays separate for each child. Choose Different people to keep two guardians. Kyloth never decides this for you.
To end a child's enrolment, open their record, set Enrolment ended on and press End enrolment. If the child has school section placements, the record sends you to School placements to review the change there. Only an owner or admin sees Delete this child's record. The hourly sweep then removes the name and details; the consent proof and the audit trail stay, with ids only.
