Ask a guardian for consent
Start consent after meeting the guardian, and record a withdrawal they give you by phone.
Where: Class → Students → a student's record → Guardians
Consent is asked separately for each use: keeping the enrolment record, absence messages, fee messages, receipts, and batch or timing changes. Each guardian's card shows every use as not asked, pending, verified or withdrawn. A child admitted or added by staff starts with no consent.
- Meet the guardian first. Then open the child's record and press Start consent on the guardian's card.
- In this preview no message is sent, because Class has no SMS or WhatsApp sender. The screen shows the one-time code and the guardian's link under a notice saying nothing was sent. Pass them to the guardian yourself while testing.
- The guardian opens the link, reads what the school holds and why, ticks the uses they agree to and types the code. The code lasts ten minutes and allows five tries; press Send the code again for a new one. The link lasts seven days.
- Return to the record. The card shows each use the guardian agreed to. A guardian whose consent is verified can be given a fresh link with Send a new link.
A guardian can withdraw any use from their own page at any time. If they ask by phone, press Record a phone withdrawal, tick the uses they named, and tick Stop every message to this phone if they asked for that. Your name is recorded as the person who took the call. Withdrawing stops that use; it does not delete the record.
From the same page a guardian can download a copy of their child's record, including attendance, and ask for the record to be deleted. A deletion request cannot be cancelled from the staff screens. Recording consent for an absence or fee message does not send one: Class sends no absence, fee or receipt messages yet.
