Pricing a product

What a price leaves you after every cost, and the lowest price that leaves what you want.

User guide
These guides describe implemented workflows. You still need an account and access to the product; individual features can have separate requirements.

Where: Dashboard, Pricing, or Price this product on a product's page

Choose a product, or an option of it, and the page fills in what your shop already knows: the cost price, the GST rate, Kyloth's commission on your plan, the delivery charge from your rates and your free-delivery threshold, your cash-on-delivery fee and prepaid discount, and how often orders came back in the last 90 days. Each figure says where it came from and sits on a shaded box. Change any of them to try something: the box then says it is your figure for this session, shows what your shop holds, and offers Reset. Nothing you type is saved.

  • Price that meets your target: the lowest whole-rupee price that leaves the margin or the rupees a unit you ask for. Tick End in 9 to round up to a price ending in 9.
  • At a price, you keep per unit: what is left at the price you type, with where the rupee goes underneath, cost by cost.
  • The price at three margins: 10%, 20% and 30%, side by side. Press one to make it your target.
  • Other channels: add a marketplace you also sell on, with its fee from your own statement, to see the same product's figures there.

The delivery charge is what your customer pays on top of the price, and it is waived when the price reaches your free-delivery threshold, as at checkout. What your courier charges you is a separate figure: it starts from your delivery charge as an estimate, and you should change it to your courier's rate. Some figures only you know, and they start empty: packing, any other cost per order, your payment gateway's fee and your courier's charge for collecting cash. Kyloth does not know any gateway's or marketplace's fees and never fills them in for you.

  1. Press Use this price under the answer you want.
  2. Check the price now and the new price side by side.
  3. Press Change price. Your shop shows it as soon as it is saved, and nothing else on the product changes.
Before you continue
The figures are worked out for one unit in one parcel. If you pack several units together, put the difference into Other cost per order. If the price changed since you opened the page, for example from another tab, the change is refused and the page tells you the price it now has.

A product with no cost price shows nothing until you enter one, either here for the session or on the product so it is filled in next time. Return figures need about twenty settled orders of a payment method before a rate is filled in; below that the page shows the counts and leaves the rate for you to enter.
