Invite teammates and hand over work
Give each person their own account and check assignments before removing access.

Workspace members share customer records. Assigning an owner organises work; it does not make that customer's record private. Membership applies across the business's products. Owners manage admins and staff; admins manage staff. You cannot demote or remove the owner, or change your own role.
- An owner or admin opens Team and creates an invitation for the intended role. Copy the code when shown and share it privately. Anyone holding it can accept that role; it expires after seven days.
- The recipient signs into their own Desk account and uses Join workspace. Existing members keep their current role. Creating the invitation sends no email or WhatsApp message.
- Assign customer ownership from Customer owner. Deal and follow-up owners have separate editors. Staff can edit work without changing its owner; new staff follow-ups belong to that staff member.
- Before removing a teammate, open their workload and reassign owned customers, open deals and pending follow-ups. Removal refuses while those assignments remain. Closed work retains its historical owner.
- Revoke unused invitations from Team. Review outstanding codes after an issuing manager is removed or demoted; their unused invitations may no longer work.
Before you continue
A team role is not permission to send every message. Customer identity, channel consent, conversation ownership and delivery readiness have separate checks. Do not share accounts or paste credentials into notes.
